2013 Toyota Camry Vehicle Profile

Last updated 4 years ago

The Toyota Camry has been a staple for Toyota for a long time, consistently being a top selling car year after year. Let’s take a look at the features that everyone is in love with. The Camry comes in four different trims: L, LE, SE and XLE. Toyota has put so many features into this car that we are only going to highlight the features that stood out to us.

The Trims

The L is the base trim for the Camry and has some nice standard features on the exterior. Projector-beam halogen headlights and daytime running headlights that you can turn on or off come standard on this trim.  Color-keyed power outside mirrors with a manual folding feature make it easier to adjust your mirrors and allow you to fold them in if you are cutting it close in a parking space. Washer-linked intermittent windshield wipers are standard on all trims of the Camry. High Solar Energy- Absorbing glass is standard, which will help to keep your car cooler on those hot summer days.

The interior of the L trim has some nice features just like the exterior. As with just about every new car today, air conditioning with an air filter and cruise control come standard. A 6.1-inch touch-screen display serves as your screen for your audio system control and is standard on all Camry trims. This audio system includes AM/FM radio, CD player, Bluetooth streaming capabilities, and a USB and Auxiliary jack for music playing devices.  Once your phone is synced with the car’s Bluetooth, the display also allows for hands-free phone access. With six speakers located throughout the vehicle, this truly is a great entertainment system for your car. An analog instrumentation with speedometer, tachometer, fuel and average fuel economy gauges; LCD display with odometer, tripmeters, outside temperature and shift-position indicators comes standard on the L. These features give you all the driving information you need in one place, so you are not distracted looking all over for it. The rear seating has a center armrest with cup holders and can fold down in a 60/40 split, giving you more storage room when you need it. Power windows with driver-side auto up and down, jam protection, rear window defogger with timer as well as  a day and night rearview mirror comes standard on all trims. A covered center console with sliding cover, armrest and storage as well as an illuminated glove compartment are also standard on all trims of the Camry. These features make the driving experience easier and more comfortable. Dual sun visors with sliding extensions give you the ability to block out that annoying sun when you don’t have your sun glasses.  An overhead console with maplights and sunglass storage is standard on all Camry trims; now you don’t have to worry about where to store your sunglasses when you’re done with them. Two front and two rear cup holders; two front door and four rear door bottle holders give you plenty of room for holding your drinks. These features are also standard on all Camrys and will come in handy on those summer days with a crowded car.

The next trim up is the LE. For the most part it is the same as the L on the exterior except for the fact that it has an optional upgrade. This upgrade consists of a moonroof with one touch open and close, illuminated vanity mirrors, and rear-seat reading lights and is available on the SE as well. A multi-function in-key remote keyless entry system with lock, two stage unlock, panic, and trunk-release function is standard on the LE trim. This feature makes entering the car much easier, especially when your hands are full. You just push a button and open the door. Fabric trimmed seats that are 6-way power adjustable on the driver’s side are standard in both the L and the LE; however, the LE has an optional upgrade to make it an 8-way adjustable seat with lumbar support, offering a more customizable and comfortable ride. A tilt and telescopic steering wheel with audio and Bluetooth hands free phone controls on it are standard in this LE trim. Not only does this make the ride more customizable but it also makes controlling the audio system and using the Bluetooth much easier. The analog instrumentation is almost identical to that of the L trim except that the LE has a feature that shows your instant fuel economy. Power door lock with shift-linked automatic locking with anti-lockout feature is also standard on this trim. Finally, two 12V auxiliary power outlets are standard on the LE, SE and XLE.

The third trim is the SE. This trim has several different features from the previous trims making it a fairly different car. For starters, the headlights have black sport trim bezels, integrated fog lights, and a sports mesh front grille all standard. The outside mirrors are heated on the SE, making it much easier in the winter time. A color-keyed rear spoiler and a chrome-tipped exhaust are standard on the SE, giving a sportier look than the other Camrys. As mentioned before, the audio system is standard across all Camry trims; however, there is an optional upgrade available on the SE. The upgraded system has all the same features as the standard one but, in addition it includes navigation, Entune, and advanced voice recognition. Entune is something new from Toyota. It includes the ability to sync your mobile device with your car and then use apps with Entune such as searching for things on Bing, iHeartRadio, Pandora, movietickets.com, and OpenTable. As part of an available package, a backup camera and a smart key system on the front doors and trunk can be added to the SE. Sport fabric softex trimmed front seats with seat pockets are standard on the SE. There is an optional upgrade available to take the driver’s seat from 6-way to 8-way adjustable, add lumbar support and a heating function for the seats. The steering wheel is the same as the LE trim with leather trim and paddle shifters added, giving it a sportier more luxurious feel. The last standard feature on the interior of the SE is the silver trim with silver interior door handles, adding another luxurious touch. Available as part of an optional package are an auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass and a HomeLink universal transceiver.

The last trim on the list is the XLE. On the exterior it has the same headlights as the LE trim but comes standard with integrated fog lights as well. The moonroof and all the goodies that come with that option are standard on the XLE, adding some luxury and style to the XLE. Finally, for the exterior the XLE comes with a standard chrome-tipped exhaust just like SE, giving it a little more flare. A dual zone automatic climate control with air filter and rear-seat vents is standard on the XLE, giving it the best air conditioning unit of all the Camry trims. The audio system is the standard one, however, it has two optional upgrades. The first upgrade is the same upgrade that is available on the SE; the other is absolutely worth the extra money. The upgrades include navigation, Entune, advanced voice recognition, and a ten JBL GreenEdge speaker system with an amplifier and subwoofer. Entune is something new from Toyota. It includes the ability to sync your mobile device with your car and then use apps with Entune such as searching for things on Bing, iHeartRadio, Pandora, movietickets.com, and OpenTable. Like the SE, the XLE offers an optional package that includes a backup camera and smart key system. A leather-trimmed tilt and telescopic 4-spoke steering wheel with Bluetooth hands free phone and audio controls is standard on the XLE. To add a bit of luxury, wood-grain-style interior trim with chrome interior door handles is standard on the XLE. With all of this and more available on the XLE, this trim is absolutely worth the extra money.

Safety

Safety is something that should never be taken lightly, especially when looking at buying a new car. That is why Toyota has made the 2013 Camry an extremely safe car. The Star Safety System, which all together provides you with more control while driving and more stopping power, is standard on all trim levels. Standard on all trim levels are ten airbags which includes driver and front passenger advanced airbag system, driver and front passenger seat-mounted side airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, rear seat-mounted side air bags, and front and rear side curtain airbags. There are driver and front passenger Whiplash-Injury-Lessening seat and an energy-absorbing collapsible steering column that comes standard in all trims. One very nice and unique safety feature that is only available as an option on the XLE trim is Safety Connect. Safety Connect includes emergency assistance, stolen vehicle locator, roadside assistance and automatic collision notification. This is available by subscription and comes with a complimentary one-year trial subscription. Finally a blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert and anti-theft system with alarm are both available as options on the SE and XLE trims. With all of these safety features, you can drive with peace of mind that this car is built car to protect you if you are ever in an accident.

Conclusion
