The American made Toyota Tundra is completely refreshed for 2014 and built to handle the toughest tasks. Whatever your passion or needs are, the 2014 Tundra is sure to deliver with outstanding capability wrapped in a luxurious package that sets the standard for full-size pickups.
For 2014 the Tundra will be available in 3 cab configurations and 5 different trim levels all offering a wide array of options. The SR is the workhorse of the bunch providing all the muscle needed to get any job done while available in Regular Cab and Double Cab. The SR5 and Limited, available in Double Cab and CrewMax, both possess significant upgrades while performing exceptionally while working and in the great outdoors with the optional TRD Off-Road Package. The brand new Platinum and 1794 Edition both available in CrewMax offer refinement and ruggedness unmatched in their class leading combination of luxury and capability. The top of the line and loaded 1794 Edition is named after the year that the ranch where Tundra’s were built in San Antonio Texas was founded.
Probably the most significant upgrades and changes can be seen throughout the 2014 Tundra’s interior. The center stack console has been moved closer to the driver side as compared to previous models to enhance driver usability and ease of control. This intuitive control revamp along with all new instrument and gauge cluster enhances the driver’s ability to accomplish all those important tasks without sacrificing attention to the road. All of these layout changes are found wrapped around deluxe refinement and technology to please. Every Tundra trim level comes standard with Bluetooth and also a backup camera making that difficult hitching process a breeze. There’s also an available Entune Premium JBL Audio with Navigation and App Suite to help you stay updated with some of the most popular apps that you’re used to finding on your mobile phone. Other options include Dual Zone Climate Control, 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat, and available Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. All of this can be found in a spacious cabin, especially the CrewMax configuration which has added fold-up rear seats for even more cargo storage room.
Toyota really listened to what full-size pickup owners wanted when designing the 2014 Tundra’s new grille by making it bigger and bolder. The front hood itself is raised almost 2 inches from the previous model year. The new grille combined with new headlights, new side mirrors, and integrated fender flares makes for one good looking truck. They’ve even included small fins on the mirrors and taillights known as “vortex generators” as well as a tailgate spoiler to enhance the ride noise quality and aerodynamics to aid in fuel economy. Add a billet style stamped “Tundra” into the tailgate and you have an unmistakably tough looking pickup.
Built Tough, American Made
Underneath all of the refinement and style are the Tundra’s powerful and reliable engine choices. Starting with an efficient 4.0L V6, it has 270 horsepower and 278 lb. ft of torque which is more than enough for most jobs. Continuing from there we enter the unmatched realm of V-8 power. There is the available 4.6L V8 with 310 hp and 327 lb. ft of torque and, a 5.7L V8 which delivers an outstanding 381 hp and 401 lb. ft of torque. This translates into some serious capability while being able to haul more than 2,000 lbs and tow over 10,000 lbs. That is more than enough power to handle just about anything but as any experienced driver knows, towing is more than just power. That’s where Tundra’s class leading front brakes come into play being able to easily stop any load with powerful 4-piston front calipers. Finally, it has available Trailer-Sway Control which controls the side to side motion of a trailer and 4WD Active Traction Control to improve grip when traction is at a minimum.
So whatever your task, Tundra has you covered all the while being made in San Antonio Texas.
